In the framework of the 7FP Training Network “Integration and international migration: pathways and integration policies”, the Centre for Ethnic and Migration Studies (CEDEM) of the University of Liège is pleased to announce the first scientific thematic workshop organized by the working group on “Citizenship and Political Participation”.

The working group aims at exploring three sets of issues: transnational political participation and transnational citizenship; links between culture and citizenship and political participation of religious groups.  Accordingly, the first workshop will focus on the first issue.

This one-day seminar aims at discussing the state of the art of political transnationalism with questions such as political participation from abroad, the transnational influence on political integration of immigrants and the development of transnational citizenship. Questions of methodology will be also discussed. And finally, it will give the opportunity to INTEGRIM Early Stage Researchers to present their dissertation project and to nourish it from the exchanges and discussions.

This workshop is open to professors, researchers, MA students, PhD students. The attendance is free but registration is requested before 9 September 2013. Please send an email to Sonia.Gsir@ulg.ac.be
